Newbie!
I wonder if anyone can help me? I have inherited a number of Virgin media boxes from my son who has moved into a new house and does not wish to use them. I have a satellite dish on my van roof. Is the signal to a Virgin Media box different to one from a satellite receiver? Doubtful I know but worth an ask.

Yes, totally. You can't plug a dish into a VM box :-(

Virgin AFAIK is cable
Sky is satellite
Freeview is broadcast

All different, all use different boxes.

Not only are they completely different systems, the Virgin Media boxes are only on loan and must be returned to Virgin.

Don't be tempted to try to sell them online because all major outlets (Ebay etc) will inform Virgin of an unlawful attepmt to sell 'stolen' goods.
