Is there one? Why would a working vineyard use land they could plant more vines on, build a campsite on it?

There are various France Passion sites on vineyards but they only cater for a couple of vans at a time usually.

However - no doubt if anyone knows of any, they'll tell us!

Failing that, why not head into the Champagne region - slightly to the north west of Lac d'Orient and see what you find? - shedloads of sites around Epernay for instance.

We have stayed at a free Aire on the side of a champagne vineyard , there is a marked walk with boards showing info on the champagne process. Fantastic views from the Aire. Mutigny, camper contact no. 13514.

We passed that one and noted it. Trouble is it is very close to Marseuil sur Ay which is a bit of a stunner on the canal.

Quaffed champagne there with Belgian sommeliers. Also an Aire in Epenay, home of famous brands including Moet and Chandon.

Not a lot of help perhaps but if you join France Passion they have quite a cluster of locations in the Champagne region. Alternatively, have a look for places a bit south of Reims or south east of Troyes on CamperContact.......
.... or aires website of your choice. :)

I also remember driving around and seeing a lot of private aire type signs in the region staying on farms, vineyards etc.

Also have a look on Campercontact if you have it as we found a couple of vineyard stays in Alsace set right in the vineyards on our last trip.

Try asking at the tourist office for vineyards that have campsites we usually find some that aren't listed elsewhere and a lot you don't need france passion for

We stayed here at Champagne Nowack a few years ago. It's a french passion site and also has a campsite. If you use the FP it was free including hookup and use of the amazing private bathroom and games room.

The campsite I recall was pretty cheap around the 10 euro mark.

We have stopped on Nowack a number of times, last time was in April and always leave with a box of the champagne, there is also an aire just down the road from there.
