We are planning our winter break for 2019/20 and are thinking of renting a nice Villa or house on the Costa coast. There's only 2 of us and we're both house trained.
We've had the last 35 years in the van but fancy a change. Would consider further south but must be coastal. Probably early December until end February.
I thought it best to try the funsters first.
Please PM me with replies.
Many thanks

I have often recommended renting a house rather than taking the van IF you are just going to be in one place, enjoying the weather (although it goes against the grain to lose the freedom AND to have assets sitting unused on my drive).

We rented an apartment in Fuengirola in Jan 2009: 3 bed/3bath, front row beach for €500 pm + bills (admittedly, via a friend at mates rates). Unfortunately the restaurant underneath went up in flames and we moved to a large, modern 2bed/2bath golf complex apartment near Marbella with 3 pools, air conditioning and Sky TV for €650 pm + bills.

Originally I'd intended taking the MH but the cheapest site I could find was €350pm, assuming I was staying for 90 days. By taking the car I got 50mpg compared to 25mpg in the van and cheaper ferry costs, although I did have to pay for hotels en route. I could also park in underground carparks and squeeze into small on-street spots.

Good luck (and enjoy) - Gordon
