List of 'Continental' Vets

<Link Removed>

Not sure if this link will work but if it doesn't then go to The Big Pitch Guide - UK & Europe based RV & Motorhome Pitch Information Guide
on the front page click on RV Links - then on the new page click on Google maps

second map down is a list of all the vets that I know of on continental ports.

Most people reckon that Doctor Paulus at Eperleques is the good one to go for.

Im assuming this is something to do with innoculation?

Bit of a long shot here but have you thought of asking the Ferry company you are booked with if they can help?

I'd suggest you be more definitive in your timing too.....Southern Spain is just a 'few hours' from Calais! :winky:

Vets

Hi Gypsyrose,

I am assuming you want it for the Pet Passport scheme.
We have 2 retreivers & use the Vets at least twice per year.
My recommendation is a vet in RUE, only 1 hour from Calais called Bonhomme & Delahaye, Tele:03 22 25 00 63.
My wife & I sussed a longed time ago the best & cheapest way to do it is, to buy your wormer & frontline via the internet before leaving the Uk & ask the Vet in France or Spain to carry out the procedure of administering the tablets. For examination & stamping of passports the Vet above charges Euro 21 for TWO dogs. This appears to be a standard charge per appointment, so you may get lucky with 3

Hope this helps

The further away inland from Calais you get the cheaper the service will be.

For instance 2 Great Danes done at CC site nr St Omer 100 euros each, had them done near Bordeaux and it was 30 euros each then I drove to Calais for the 24/48 hour boarding slot.

Hi there we used vet - Florent Dominique Le Badhuit, 62280 Saint Martin Boulogne (very near a large Auchan) Good vet and price for 2 med size dogs last year was 79 euros incl worming & Advantix. However, this was only about 1/2 hr from Calais and I don't know if this was cheap or not but .... here .... is a list of vets which you could contact.

Hope this will be of help

Hi ,
we don't have a dog yet, but we met an English couple who told us they went to a vet in Honfluer who charges around €30 .. located just outside the aire across the main road..

The discussion was raised as we were thinking of getting a dog..

I can vouch for the location of the vet, but not the cost.. but they made a point of always visiting Honfluer on the way home for this purpose, said it was a lot cheaper than the Calais vets.

First time we went to the vet at Ardres in the big square it cost 55 euro we had our own Frontline but he said it was the same price whether he used it or not. he charged by dog weight ours was over 20k (was a fat corgi) so we put her on a diet lol
In may we went to vet at calais cost 33Euro Used our own Frontline.ment us hanging around so we went back out and camped overnight at Sangatte no problem .See you can stay at cite Europe now though.
We were the same the first time so up tight an case there was something we didnt do right but it was fne.
Might try somewhere farther down france this time, mind get loads of time to shop..while we wait to go. lol:roflmto:

We went to a vets in Chateudun, (mainly because we love the Aire at Marbouie) and were astounded to be charged 35 euro for each of our yorkies + worm tablets and Advantix. We certainly wont be going there again.

We dog owners could really benefit from compiling a list of vets and their charges for the pets passport. It seems to be a right rip off!!!
