Just wondering if anyone knows what is causing several vertical ripples in the bodywork of my motorhome. My motorhome is two years old at the end of May and I will be having the habitation check done to keep the 5 year water ingress waranty valid. Do you think that water ingress could be causing these ripples. Any advice appreciated.

I would get in touch with the supplier NOW, could be delamination, unless you are in the habit of driving it into a brick wall.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Our Elddis had ripples too!

I think it is because the aluminium skin has a high expansion coefficient. When it gets warm, it wants to expand but has nowhere to go!

I might be wrong on this, but it seems feasible!::bigsmile:

As for water ingress causing it, I would say it wouldn't be a factor unless the ripples are in the shape of the wooden frame beneath!:whatthe:

Ripples

A photo of your ripples may be useful....::bigsmile:

Hi Callum, the ripples wouldnt show on a photo as you can only see them when standing at a certain angle and catching it in the right light. But thanks for your advice. I am going to take it back to the dealer asap as the more I look at it the more I think it is cause for concern. Many thanks Jan

Is it rippling where it sticks to the side batons IE in-between the batons ?I do know some makes do not stick the roof and let it flap but this does not happen to the sides.Take it back a see what they say ? if its only visible at certain angles and light conditions i would say theres nowt wrong.

it will be where the outer skin is glued to the side wall frame which will never be totally flat over such a large area

from certain angles you can see the shape of the timber frame on mine too
