When we pop over to France in June (Dover Calais ) I want to pop up to veurne in Belgium to stock up on cheap baccy !!!

I see there is an aire there but probably not suitable for my 8m van! I think the max is 6 as parking seems to be tight.

Anyone been there and done that and can reccomend anywhere?
We don't get to Calais till about 3 so intend to head straight there.

If not disrupting your plans too much , you could maybe carry on in to Brugge , about 30 mile further......... Aire to use there ( 51.1966359 N 3.224968 E. ) , next to a marina . About 10 minute walk in to the town . A bit more pricey than your average cost aire , but your in a great town .

Treat yourself to some time in the wall of beer pub. Broken Link Removed . Amazing place .

Tobacco from Ardinkerke. We alway stop at De Zwerver aire. Electric hookup included, it's a good stop and not that far. Plan B is the camperstop attached to the campsite in Ypres. Tried getting our 7 metre van in at Verne and it was too large.

HI to get your baccy best go to adinkerke baccy ally you can buy as much as you like. Make sure you get your vouchers for a free beer free lighters and chocs. They all charge about the same price.Adinkerke is first junction off motorway when you get into belgium. Really easy to find.Once you bought your baccy stay on same road just follow coast road/not done it myself but lots of motorhomes park up along the side of road for night and there are a few sites close by.Bit of a warning if buying loads of baccy always keep your eye on it.Dont put in your van and leave it lots of thiefs about watching. Lots of money involved.Nearly had us once good luck:thumb:

No problem  Theres an aire , or maybe more accurately parking places , at Bray Dunes that would take your van , no problem . Just a couple of miles from Veurne , or Addenkerke , as others have mentioned . Hop skip and a jump from Dunkirk.

Hi , you could also try.

Aire: HONDSCHOOTE

ADDRESS: NEXT TO SPORTSFIELD, RUE DE BERGUES
TEL: 03 28 68 31 55 FAX:
EMAIL: ville.hondschoote@wanadoo.fr
TYPE OF AIRE: MUNICIPAL

FACILITIES: WATER /GREY DRAIN/ BLACK DRAIN / ELECTRIC
LOCATION: URBAN NO. OF SPACES: 6

PRICES/ RATES: JETONS FROM SHOPS
PARKING: FREE/ 24 HOURS SERVICES: 2€
OPENING TIMES: ALL YEAR
GPS COORDS: N50.97642 E02.58034
DIRECTIONS: Exit A16 @ Jcn 36 & take D947 SOUTH to HONDSCHOOTE. Pass thru town & turn RIGHT after D3 Jcn into RUE DE BERGUES & then LEFT to parking.
SITE DESCRIPTION: Found next to the village sports field and one of the towns 2 windmills, this Aire is on a long tarmac parking area bordered by tall hedges. The site can however suffer from road noise from the nearby D947. Parking is 200m from the town centre. The Aire has a Raclet service point which is a short distance away from the parking.
Hondschoote is regarded as one of the finest towns in Flanders, having a distinctively Flemish atmosphere. A large number of the town's monuments survived the onslaught of the many battles fought in this area, and some are of impressive size, such as the town hall (1556), the 16th century church of Saint Vaast & the 12th century Noordmeulen windmill.
REVIEW
2006 I thought this was a nice, quiet Aire next to a football pitch & close to a wooden windmill. A short walk into the heart of the village. Jetons available in the shops. A very peaceful night spent here.

If you go to Adinkerke then head back along the D601 towards Dunkirk you can turn right over the canal towards Bray Dunes onto Rue Pierre Decock and there is a Carrefour with MH facilities and they are happy for you to stay overnight.
