I'm going to replace the bathroom standard MPK roof vent with the MPK Vision Vent. Is it a must that bathroom roof lights are vented? I do remember in colder weather, it made the bathroom a bit draughty for Mrs Dave, but I'm guessing because of the shower etc it just makes sense to keep that wee room vented? I don't know if there's a non-vented mini roof light that would fit the hole that could be simply opened as required.

Any thoughts?

Vented.
But close able if that’s an option.
I don’t know of any unvented Motorhome bathrooms.
Though for uses of that area not creating moisture, being able to cut out a draft sounds good.

Edit: tipo

If you don't have a venting option how are you going to get rid of those iffy odours. What about moisture from washing, especially if the space need a to dry after shower.

Some vents are “free air” vents so never seal fully, and always allow airflow. Other vents are sealed, but you can open them to allow airflow. I swapped my “free air” “vented“ to a sealed one, so no draughts, but we do ALWAYS open it when showering, which is a must.

I fitted a fan into perspex in ours, hi/lo speed and a night light. The mirrors steam up but the fan clears it in no time. Plus the nasty smells get sucked out, you can feel the air coming in under the door 👌

Thanks for the replies. What I was driving at was whether to fit the newer MPK which is open and closable but always venting - no rubber seal - or one that seals but can be opened. If the latter is there one that fits the unusual MPK dimensions that seals closed?

I have just removed a MPK Vision Vent. 😁
We have never been a fan of MPK rooflights, we have changed 3 now in motorhomes for Heki I find the airflow is far better when open, fitted the micro in our van bathroom a few weeks ago, and being the smaller 280 x 280 and very happy with it. 🙂
😎 Bob.

Thank you! Did you go with or without fixed ventilation? I assume without just means opening it to create ventilation?

Great, vented Micro Heki it is - once I figure out which Micro Heki Installation Kit I need for a 2008 Apache. Never bloody easy is it
