Read somewhere that to get more flavour in your home grown Tomatoes, you have to make them think they are dying.
How do you do that?
During this warm weather we have been having I have been letting the soil in some pots they are in dry out, then the next day giving them heaps.
The plant when it's roots dries out thinks it's dying , so produces more Sugar and the bonus is, the fruit ripens faster.
The plants I've been using as an experiment are "Baby Roma's " picked some today, and they are sweeter, than the Baby Roma's I hav'n't been playing with.

It works

Never heard that but it sounds feasible. If a garden plant doesn't get water it produces seeds quickly to try and save its species, so I guess it the same idea.
