I wouldn't want to tow a Vauxhall Viva. I had one back in the 70s and it was a pile of shit.

Reckon the opposite today with safety cells etc on new cars.Hit one broadside with a consul 375 wrecked the viva but had to pull the front bumper out by 1/2 inch as that was the only damage
Joe
Will check tomorrow, van is on Merc Chassis, so hopefully ok.I see your pic shows an Autotrail.. have you checked the Viva weight and the train weight on the Autotrail ?
Depending on AT model, many have bolt on chassis extensions so you need be careful as if someone has fitted only to the extensions you could cause damage.
My Apache 700 (2012) can only tow 1050kg..
If it's the new viva, Vauxhall website says its 1350kg..

I think you will find the early 70's viva was a different generation to the Chevette, which was around the same time as the Cavalier. There were even earlier versions of the Viva, which are fairly rare nowadays.Viva HC was my first car in 1987... PRB 710M first registered in December1973. 1256cc engine, under powered, heavy, leaky, unreliable rusty pile of scrap. The later Opel designed cars were much better, I think the last British one was the Chevette.
Hi, does anyone tow a new vauxhall viva with an A Frame? if so where did you buy from/ have it fitted.
TIA,
Cheers, Dave
ps, looking to buy an A Frame!!
What do you expect from a 14 year old 70's car ?Viva HC was my first car in 1987... PRB 710M first registered in December1973. 1256cc engine, under powered, heavy, leaky, unreliable rusty pile of scrap. The later Opel designed cars were much better, I think the last British one was the Chevette.

I'm considering a raspberry magnum, right now as it's 30 degrees here on the Bozburon peninsulaI had a Vauxhall Magnum, automatic and it went like the proverbial off of a shovel. I just looked on line to see if it is still going and the tax is / was due in 1987.
