Might have been old stock. Did you check the date code on the tyres before getting them fitted?

I have to be honest and say I didn't. Could well be the case though as the older of the pair on the rear came from 'Skye Tires'. Fitted when I had two Uniroyals that were about 4 years old start to delaminate. I pick the van up later so I'll have a look.

I suspect they are just being picky though! Three years or so ago the same dealer after service/MOT said I had "some play" in the front off side wheel bearing. I'm constantly listening out for it but three years passes and it's not mentioned....until this year and apparently it's got "slight play again" Apart from that the best they could manage was a bulb out that I should have noticed and the windscreen wipers were "a bit smeary"...well what do you expect for 4euro each in a Spanish Chinese shop!

Get them to do something important like drain and refill my gearbox properly and they don't even know what your talking about!

Don't trust them, never have and never will ;).
