the underside of our shower tray cover was unsealed plywood and after our trip to the Alps, we noticed the underside of the shower tray cover was starting to stain with a a bit from moisture above the two plug holes in the shower tray.
I can only suspect there us an element of evaporation from the grey tank.
I took the shower tray cover out yesterday, sanded the underside down and noticed the edge veneer had started to part and from the ply in a couple of places - presumably through a bit of expansion due to the dampness.
so I used a cocktail stick to get some wood glue into the veneer and gave the underside and the finger hole 3 coats of clear varnish to seal it properly to prevent any water damage
it is probably done sooner than later to minimise any damage
this is the underside after sanding and varnishing
