Hi Beds

I have a 2016 Carthago Malibu DB2 which is a similar layout to the Globescout

Cheers

To add to your list there is the Pilote Foxy V600 & the smaller V540.
I have 2013 Pilote F630 which has twin fixed beds.

We have a 2017 Globecar Campscout which we have owned for 20 months now which as 10,500 miles on the clock.
Our Globecar has been absolutely brilliant for our travelling lifestyle, great vans with good quality fittings.
There is also a great Globecar community on this forum.

Not wanting to rain on anyone's parade, or sound too smug and superior, but really, the only 6m. PVC layout worth considering is the Rapido V55. (y)
I feel deeply sorry for people with any other PVC layout.
But I know we all have to learn from experience.:ROFLMAO:
(As an aside, I like to think of my (perfect V55, just saying) PVC as a sensibly sized A Class - they even come with drop down beds these days.(y))

Hymer and Hobby also do a similar layout in PVC
Lots to look at if you have the time

That particular Globescout has a solid washroom door which is uncommon with the fixed rear bed PVC layout. Most others have tambour doors.

I can't really suggest many others that also share this layout and have a solid washroom door. The Westfalia Columbus and Amundsen are alternatives but some versions lack a wardrobe.

I have an Autocruise Alto (3 berth) which has a fixed rear bed - continental style not transverse. Love it, However the shower is the compromise and I haven’t used that in the 5 years I have had the van!!

Also look at Globecar Summit 600. Do you want transverse beds where you climb over each other to go to the loo in the night? Globecar also do the DK with separate shower and loo.

The trade off we have seen is if you do not go Transverse, the van is longer, or you lose something in inside. I would be happy with the longer van, but I doubt my wife would want to drive it.

The shower door, solid v tambour has not been high on our look at list yet, just sussing out layouts.

The point of this thread is to get a list of vans with a layout kind of what we like. What we do not like is the rear lounge thing.

Thanks for your reply and everyone elses.

I did not know about the Wildax option.

What is a touch confusing is that I have seen what is obviously the same van, but being marketed under different names and different price points.

I think that dealers and manufacturers are trying to muddy the waters.

We do not like the type of bed in the Alto. We would rather climb over each other than sleep in one of those, though I am sure lots of people love them.

Personally I love the Alto bed, ideal for me and a small dog, and the storage it gives me is great. I appreciate however that people have different needs, and the fact that my feet are always warm as the hot water boiler is under the bed is a bonus.

I honestly don't think that the extra 36cm will cause any issues for your wife.

Good luck with your choice though:xThumb:

Same wheelbase as the shorter one, feels the same to drive IMO
