Does anyone know what is going on with this particular van for sale? N+B Flair currently listed with 4Front Motorhomes near Hayward’s Heath:

Up until yesterday it was listed for sale with Motorhome Depot (now listed as unavailable’):

https://www.motorhomedepot.com/vehicle/niesmann-bischoff-flair-720-2012

And it has also featured in a video produced by We Buy Any Motorcaravan:

Why is it being shuffled around like this? Do dealers/brokers go in for this sort of thing on a regular basis?

We are toying with going to look at it as it’s fairly nearby but wanted Funsters opinions on its many manifestations.

Any thoughts, please?

Caution. Possibly a cash cow doing the rounds. Nice van and a decent carrot to dangle to potential buyers. I may be wrong but it sounds suspicious.

Worth a viewing, if it's good nick then a good price
An offer of 60k or maybe late 50s would secure it I bet.
I would look at it, the very same motorhome depot broker also had another LHD flair 2012 which the owner just wanted shut of as he bought it as a job lot with a load of classic cars but only wanted the cars.

Karl the broker from motorhome depot is called.

At least this one has a sensible MOT history.

We went to look at a Flair 8000 at Serenity Leisure near Bristol last week, WK07 HFG. In fact it was the one that Ken @canopus mentioned in the thread about Flairs started by @oldieish . That had an unsettling MOT history, with an awful lot of standing around unused. The tyres were originals and on the point of perishing. It had been in stock there since April 2018 (as per their own video) and before that it had starred in another video, this time by We Buy Any Motorcaravan. We also could not have a test drive until we were at the stage of being about to sign on the dotted line. We just got bad vibes about the whole thing. Interestingly I see this van now has ‘reserved’ against it. I hope whoever has reserved it has arranged for a full mechanical inspection before they part with their money.

4front car sales is on the way to Gatwick. You can see it on the left going north on A23. Used to be a car supermarket type of place but now seems crowded with motorhomes. I'm not sure if they have much experience with this market.

Not belonging to anyone on here I can say that it is one ugly motorhome, not only from the front but it actually looks like a prison van on one side.

£60k for a 7 year old van?:Eeek:

Quality - yes, Style - NO

I've only seen bad reviews on them.

For the same reason that you used the :imoutahere:

So you think my comments were wrong?

............I'm waiting for someone to argue that it is not ugly...............

.....I could be waiting some time.............

It's very cheap for a 2012 Flair, beautiful looking van too. New it would be about 200k for that quality.

If the van was for sale at Travelworld or Polch it would be a lot dearer.
It's not the first time you have rubbished the looks of other vans whilst singing the praises of your own, you have to remember that everyone is different.
If the dealer is bad though then that's another story as the history of it could be suspect, any marque of van can be ruined depending on how it's been looked after.

first impression is it's a very good price though for a 2012 Flair, one of both the best looking and best constructed vans in the world.

They re not known for being troublesome mechanically. I would suggest giving whatever you buy with the Agile gearbox a thorough test drive though, they re not everyones cup of tea although being 2012 this is one of the later ones which are suposed to be a lot better. Shortest one I ve ever seen though .

It's going to be a smidge under 8 metres being a 710i Jon, they need to get their tape measure out instead of just copying the previous advert.

Update

We went to see this van on Monday. Seems a lovely van and in very good condition. For us tho’ the lounge was too small. This was the first Flair 7100 we’ve actually viewed - have the lounges got smaller in later models? From looking at brochures for 2007-2010 the lounges seemed bigger. Now veering back towards Flair 8000s again.

The story behind this particular van is that it belonged to a local guy who has bought a new £200,000 N+B direct from the factory. Lucky man! I guess this could explain it being listed on Motorhomedepot for a short while as a brokerage van and then the owner deciding to just sell it to 4Front Motorhomes himself. However I’m not sure it explains its earlier listing with We Buy Any Motorcaravan - unless they also act as brokers?

If we’d wanted this van I’d definitely have wanted a test drive sooner rather than later as I’ve now been alarming myself with what I’ve read online about Agile autoboxes! As we’ve had 2 vans with Comfortmatic boxes which have been great, I’m now veering back towards vans on the Fiat/Alko tag chassis rather than Iveco. However, with the substantial build quality of the N+Bs I’m suspecting that payload on this chassis will be somewhat compromised.

Hi Maz

Yes the lounge does look small, being 2012 its too new for the layout to be on the liner-forum brochure page, it is different to any of the 2009 layouts in that it has a separate toilet so not sure if the bathroom got bigger around that time.

The description does say 7.25 metres but I thought that was a typo and still think it will be but I don't know where the space has gone as it looks like it is 1 seat short in the lounge.

Yes you would have to drive it if you liked it but its worth remembering with the Agile box that virtually every IVECO motorhome from around 2008 to 2015 running around Germany and the continent, (and this will be a lot) will be using that box.

Only if it's the original 60's s type and not that awful retro hobby of the 90's, no style points there I'm afraid.

We buy any motorcaravan are like we buy any car. They are owned by motorhome depot who will try and sell the cream.
The customer who enquired and went through we buy any motorcaravan would have been put in touch with motorhome depot who would have offered to sell it for him. They sign a contract for 3 months that ties the customer in. If the customer part exchanges it anywhere else or part exchanges it he has to give 10% I believe to the broker.
I would guess 4 Front have just bought it directly from the customer and I expect Motorhome depot couldn't sell it.

The shower was the ‘Wellness’ type with substantial heavy shower doors, which uses a bit more space than the standard shower layout. However I think that space gets taken off the kitchen rather than the lounge.

I also think that the van was longer than the stated 7.25m. We didn’t bother getting the guy to measure it as it was raining and the small lounge had put us off anyway.

Re Iveco gearbox. Yes, I know it’s easy for me to become paranoid about such things. :giggle:

Looks a good quality van, if it had been 2 singles at the back I'd possibly have been interested.

Thank you - that is very informative. (y)
