Vanbitz tracker appears not to be working (1 Viewer)

Hoping to get the attentiion of @eddievanbitz or @jamesvanbitz . We have the non-starter fitted along with the Strikebsck system. The actual immobiliser is working, we can set and unset it via the Metatrak app although the green square doesn't change to red on the dashboard.

The last journey score is from 15 July although we have used the van a few times since then.

The map is still showing us in a car park in Whitchurch at 12.55 on Thursday 27.07.17 although we left there, went to a campsite just outside Whitchurch, the next day travelled to Market Drayton, then on Saturday to Shrewsbury and home on Sunday. The privacy mode is disabled, which I believe is correct.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Meta Trak app on my phone, but everything is still the same. I'm now worried that the tracker isn't working. Where do we go from here please? Anyone else had this problem?

@Alistair33 afraid you've lost me there, what's a power and home button reset? I should maybe have mentioned that I also had the app installed on my tablet so unlikely that both apps had corrupted - or is it?

@Diggerdi I've just checked mine and it was updated this afternoon while I had the van jacked up and was working on it, so you can eliminate a problem at the control centre.

Mine did the same but Vanbitz contacted MetaTrak and they did something remotely and I now have the complete dashboard on my phone and the tracker tracks , they will soon have that fixed for you.

There are a couple of options to see if the unit is responding, try the below option to see if you can get an updated position. Also is the internal battery square green on the status page?

Log in to Meta Trak and the home screen appears

Click on the top left icon and select Commands

From the available commands select Position Request

Click Send

Click on Back then click on top left icon followed by History, you will see that a position request has been asked for

Once the position request has been received you get the below options

Click on position report and you get the updated vehicle position

@Lorryman100, tried the above - nothing! Also on the home page the ignition is showing green, and it's definitely not on!

That seems a bit strange? A job for Vanbitz to overcome me thinks. The ignition when off should show up as red.

Phone them in the morning. We had the same problem Ash sorted it remotely. Be patience they are short of staff. Holiday time. Leave I message they will get back to you(y)

Mine is showing my position correctly (north Spain).

You haven't enabled privacy mode have you? That stops it working.

I generally have a very good signal. I don't have data on my phone, I use a mifi router on 4G, but the tracker hasn't worked fully since 15 July and we've been all over the place in that time.

Hi just seen this. I am on holiday at the moment ans have a crap signal

I assume that you have spoken to Van Bitz by now, but if not the FAQ's on our home page https://www.vanbitz.com/faqs allow you to download instructions etc and there is a customer services number for app assistance

Rang Meta Trak and now all sorted :) although I don't understand their reasoning for it not working. They said the van was probably in a bad signal area and now it isn't, but since it first went funny we've been in various areas of the country and in and out of storage where it's always ok. I think something probably corrupted in the software and it just froze.
