We had the MOT done on our 2001 Hymer B584 yesterday, which it passed with wheel bearing advisory but this has come up and gone away on other MOT’s and an advisory from last year has gone, same garage, different mechanic.
But anyway we got a brake readout for the first time and interesting seeing the weights, total 3389kg (3850) front 1426kg (1850)
and rear 1963kg (2120)
So we have 461kg total available or 424kg on front axle or 157kg on the rear.
Pleased with that as we full time in it, got a Fiamma back box on rack with a Honda eu10i plus hoses and other stuff.

these weights are not calibrated as accurate , unlike weighbridge

I would have thought the weights would be calibrated because of the MoT!

DVSA dont suggest that you go for a brake test when checking your axle weights they suggest a weighing facility :)

Brake roller weights.... Don't make me laugh.
Took my van to a council test centre.

Rear 2060kg
Gross 2700kg
The van..... A 7500kg American A class RV.

So the brake test is of no use to you. Did you point out the discrepancy to the operators?

I would take it elsewhere and send the bill to the Council Test Centre.

In addition, the Council vehicles could be running around your area in an unsafe state. I think you would be doing your community a service by bringing the discrepancy to public attention. 'School kid gets run over by Council Rubbish Vehicle with faulty brakes'
