I'm a newbie November 2014
OK had ours MH 4 weeks now and still haven't got a name. Nothing seems right yet! What's yours called and how did you come up with it?

for many years we had very old vans that needed constant attention, the last one was the Beast of Exmoor seemed appropriate considering my user name.

You'll have a light bulb moment at 3am on a mist covered hillside in Scotland if we are anything to go by.....ours Rory...........reminds us of the Glens!:)

named mine rosa in memory of my beloved grandmother who was an intrepid traveller and who i know would have loved to come exploring with me, she was always up for a bit of fun no matter what until the day she died, and also because the van's red, it just seemed very appropriate..

I was convinced ours was a boy one but after a couple of weeks when we were giving her a clean she whispered her name to me - Gerty:xThumb:

She has got a girlie face and earrings when you look though:xlaugh:

Same as JeanLuc for us I am afraid.. Either 'the van', 'the new van' or the Autotrail !

Ours is called 'Rosie'! We asked our 5 year old daughter to name her, and that is what she chose, mind you she calls all of her dolls Rosie, so it wasn't a great shock :-)

We are looking around for some cool rose type decals/graphics to stick on the back, along with the name Rosie :D

We call ours Gertie as well my favourite saying is get lost Gertie as that's what we like to do in her. :xsmile:

We don't have ours yet but my wife wants to call it Bunny because the sales guy was called Warren. We will wait to see the van first though before finally deciding that she gets her way xroll:

Harvey, because, before forums, I thought it was an RV.
Ours is also Harvey - it's small and definitely not an RV but it has delusions of grandeur.
Like hilldweller, we also speak of it as an 'it' not 'he' or 'she' - though I suppose with that name it has to be 'he'?

There is a lot to be said for small(ish). Virtually no limitations where you can go.

The balance is not too small to enjoy life inside when it's bucketing down and in the evenings of course. We've had no problems with two months at a time in ours. I'm the problem then, get bored.

I believe certain other names were forthcoming at one time.. none of which are suitable for a public forum !!

you'll have a name for it when something breaks in it.................oh yes you will!

Thanks for all the replies. Nice to see how you got around to naming.

We have a Ford Buccaneer Clipper. So plenty of choices to play with the name, some rude and not so rude.
Van and wagon, seem to be what we use at minute.

Fred 5.

When we bought our first one we decided our carpets would be "Fred"bare by the time we had paid for it.

The name has simply been updated with each purchase.

When my mum died she left enough to pay the actual conversion, so we call it Vera's Van. She'd loved to have seen how much fun we've had in it :)

On a lighter note we often refer to it as the LMH (Luxury Motor Home) :moon2:

IT is called "IT"
