There's dust in me sills, if you'll pardon me saying.

Thinking ahead to when I shortly won't be on mains power, just had a look at the wattage on my little AEG AG71 car hoover and at 700W it's way more than my intended 300-500W inverter spec will handle.

How do you guys clean up in all those hard to reach gaps? Damp cloth to pick up the dust? Do small battery powered hoovers work? Or do you just let the sheep in to graze?

Thanks,
Andy.

Not long enough!
I bought the smallest cordless hand held dyson off ebay. Reconditioned by dyson. Half price with a years warranty.
Also bought their 12v charger.
Great bit of kit. Recommended.

Lidl are currently selling a car vac that runs off a cig socket. Not sure what the wattage is but it worked well and we don't have it on for long....
£9.99!

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Recently bought a Dyson Car & Boat, very pleased with it, this verson has more attachments and a flexable hose which is great for the dash and it has a 12v charger as well as a mains one.

Great ideas folks, but I might need to sell the van to afford a Dyson. At the moment, I'm seriously considering the sheep idea.

Going by the website, I think you bought the last one!

Sorry!!!
Lidl tends to repeat offers like that yearly so you don't have too long to wait!
A dustpan and brush meanwhile? -managed for years just with that in our campervan.

This is the one we have
That one looks gorgeous, though I'm wondering whether I could plug it into my engine and turn the whole thing into a twin turbo?

Seem to be a lot of votes for the Dysan, thanks for your replies. How about I just find where you all are, pull up alongside and get you to show me how it works (er, in my van)? I'd seem ever so interested, really.

Was thinking of something small and cigarette lighter-ish and under £20. Seem to be coming back to the sheep, though I haven't found its lighter attachment yet. So much wool in the way!

Since 2016, caravans before that, folding Caravan, tents before that
Our van Hoover is also a rechargeable Dyson ( so not a hoover at all) . We recharge it at home or when in hook up.
We have another one at home with a different tool set ( the long pipe) and I can do the whole house with that with one charge. As we have about 14 rooms altogether I guess we could do the van about 14 times on one charge!

Dustpan & brush with a damp cloth to finish - but then I don't have pets:)

We do have a dog works just as well. Leaving the carpets out also helps. Then get the vac out when you get home. We had 8 weeks away and its not that bad. The roof on the outside was the worst after getting covered in very fine sand mixed with a little water. Sets really well and a right pain to get off.

On the recommendation of @cliffandger we bought one of these off eBay for a couple of quid, runs off 12 v and works brilliantly.

This is the second time I’ve championed the Dirt Devil Rascal in as many days! Unfortunately, the first time was 10 minutes after the OP had bought (what for me is definitely not as good) a G Tech handheld ! What made matters worse was I attached a link for a Rascal on Fleabay at a starting price of 3 quid ....

Hope you’re still enjoying Portugal - can’t wait for a catch up xx
