Just bought a Cello 12v tv/dvd/interwebby thing for the van. I'm no expert at all on electrics, aside from wiring up a plug so before installing it I wonder if one of you good folk could put me right on this: the 12v power circuit is rated at 10amp according to the manual. 10amp fuse in the box. So far so good. The tv is rated at 3amp. I don't want to fry the tv the first time I turn it on, so would putting a 3amp inline fuse on the feed be a good failsafe? or is it an uneccessary item.

12V 10A means that, provided the voltage is correct (which it is), it is capable of supplying whatever the appliance requires, up to 10 amps.

The TV will draw whatever it requires, and that is no more than 3 amps, so everything should be fine.
