Hi Allan,
If you're still going to lakes at Valentines please let me know where, when and how long for. Marion and I would like to join you.
Get me through this site or direct at "????????".
Looking forward to seeing you again.
Do you remember going north up the M6 one Monday about 6 or 8 month ago in your Mirage, and being circled by a bloke on a red motorbike who waved to you??? 'Twer me on my new Triumph Sprint 1050.
Regards.
Yoolie

Hi Yoolie
we're still going. It's Shepherds View campsite just on the cross roads as you enter Torver. £ 10 / night includes ehu.
I've booked 3 units in (me, you, & another). Room for about 12 on here, & he's not had anyone book for this w/e.
Ground is level, some hardstanding. Water & dumping, no toilet block. 2 pubs within 300 yards. Coniston approx 3 mls, nice walk along lakeside, bus stops nearby if knackered !

We're going friday arrive approx 3 pm then leaving probabaly tues or weds then heading for York for a couple of days, then joining a meet with the wildcamping forum near doncaster for the following w/e. Lots of room on that one if you want to join in.

regards
Allen & Eileen

ps : I'll post this on the main forum to see if I can tempt others.
pps : We did wonder who that daft old bugger was on the bike !

Hiya Dave & Jen
That's a poor excuse ! Pretend you're camping again, sitting on the wet grass.
Anyway, what about the following w/e in Doncaster (see above).
If not, catch you both sometime, & call if you're passing.

regards

Allen & Eileen

Hi all
we were there, with Jim & Marion (& dog). The cloud never lifted for 3 days. The 'old man' is hidden in that lot behind us. That's me & Eileen on the right, and Jim & Marion (the 'yoolies') on the left.
We went on to Keswick and overnighted (gratuit) by the suspension bridge near Braithwaite. 2 other vans parked with us. Then a couple of nights on Rowntree Park in York. Tried to book this site on web, but no pitches. We turned up on spec... no problems, a few pitches available both nights, and this was schools half term. Asked the warden about this but couldn't get a straightforward reply.
Then onto a meet with the wildcamping forum near doncaster. That was a bit muddy, lots of pushing, pulling, and eventually a tow from a tugger to get some of the wildcampers pitched. I was ok in my twin rear wheeled merc, but still sat the rears on wooden blocks to stop it sinking in overnight.
Looking forward to southport next.
regards
Allen
