Valentines meet

Hi

Yes time is running out fast I know.

I've found two possibles and tomorrow I'm going to give them a call (again),

The problem I've had is:

1. A lot of the sites don't open until March

2. Because of the time of year, I have been trying to locate a site that has a pub with it. There arn't many, and the one's that have don't have very good reviews.

3. Trying to ensure that the meet is central England

4, Rang a site last week and they said that all meets have to be dealt with through the Caravan and Camping club head office. She gave me the number to ring, and every time I ring them I only get an answer machine. I have left numerous messages for them to ring me back but they have not done so yet. What a way to run a business!

5. I need a site with hard standings preferably. I found one site that was open all year, had a pub on site, was central England but had no hard standings. When I asked whether the ground was hard enough to withstand RV's the owner said that it did not consider it good enough when it rained - it gets very boggy.

So that's the situation at the moment - I'm really struggling. The other problem of course is that I work full time 8am - sometimes nearly 6pm so ringing round time can sometimes be very limited. If you read some of my previous posts, you would have noticed that the college denied me access to this site but for some strange reason after I threw my dummy out of the pram they gave me my access back. Can't think why!!!!!:Rofl1:

If anyone else finds anything that 'ticks all the boxes' let me know.:thumb:

Hi John

I have no objection to the venue at all. I will have another go tomorrow for the site I've found at Sutton Coldfield and then I will sound the Dirty Duck out and see if they have space available for us.

Hopefully by tomorrow I may have something for us to go to.:thumb:

If you find anything let me know. I am in constant view of my emails most of the day.

you never count your money when your sitting in the dealers,
ther'l be time enough for counting, when the deal is done:Rofl1::Rofl1:

You could try here

Herston caravan camp site, Swanage, Dorset, UK

We have been there a few times narrow road in but got a bar:beer: on site and a fair few hard standings speak to Linda if she is still there. There is a steam train nearby and Herston halt where you have to flag the the train down is a short walk away. Don't worry the site is clear from all the building materials now ,pic was taken in March 07

Or you could try

Home Page I have been to rallies there it's near the park and ride to Bath or a nice walk alon the canal which can be punctuated about half way with, yes you guessed it a pub:drink:(third pi)

Regards Pat

Valentine's Meet (a decision is made)

Hi all

Well after a few hard days, nights and weekends, I can't find anything that ticks all the boxes so we have made a decision to go back to the

Dirty Duck at Grantham

15-17 February

10 spaces initially booked on hardstanding with EHU

I'm sure that if we require any more spaces then I only have to ring Eric.

Sorry if some of you are dissappointed. Found some great sites for later on in the year when it is a bit warmer and we can all sit under our awnings. Thanks to all who have put some interesting places forward on the previous thread. I will certainly be using some of them.:thumb:

Anyway, it's all down to you now. Let me know if you want your names down on the list. :thumb:

Hi Ruth

Great that you have decided to come and have another great time. I will add your names to the list.

Hi Ruffingitsmoothly

As Geo said, don't take the A52 route, you need the A607 to Harlaxton (which if you are travelling south down the A1 is the next turning off) and then take a right turn at Denton.

Hope you decide to come. We would really love to meet you.

Pammy

Linda I'm really dissappointed that you won't be able to come and join in the fun. Nevermind needs must - we'll meet up again at Newark. I've still got that chocolate for you - I came over to see you at NYE but you were lurking about and I thought better of it to leave chocolates waiting on the side for you. Can't imagine they would have been there when you got back.:Rofl1::Rofl1:

Maybe Papa will come instead in the Landau:Wink:
What about it Papa???
