Don't own one yet
Hi

We have a very naive question and will be very grateful for any help. We own a Carthago Compactline and are thinking of getting a mobile router to boost the mobile signal - is there any way of using the output from our roof-mounted whip tv aerial to boost the mobile signal further? We have thought about getting an external Poyntin MIMO 3 aerial but are reluctant to drill the hole in the roof.

Thanks for any info.

There are no ‘legal’ mobile ‘phone signal boosters readily available in this country, afaik…..unless others know better…?

A rooftop aerial will undoubtedly improve the cellphone signal in poor reception areas, but if there is no signal you can't get something from nothing.

But the rooftop tv aerial is designed for different frequency range and is reception only. I doubt it can be adapted for a mobile phone range.

Mobile router or mifi will do - external aerials can be used with some, but not all…..

I used the tv-antenna base to get the solar panel cables in without any more holes, maybe your antenna could be used too?
