Using Three Go Roam in Europe

Off to Spain on Tuesday and have just discovered that Three have a clause in their contract that states they can turn my phone off after 2 complete months in any 12 month period when using roaming.
Has this actually happened to anyone on the Three network.
Only interested in folks experience of Thee at this point

Yes. Also you can’t start using a 3 card while in Spain, it has to be used first in the U.K.

It's happened to a few people but you will probably get away with it, just make sure you have a backup.

It may be the last time you use 3 as well. If I remember the date correctly they will charge you £2 a day to use your data after May (and I think it was the 28th) but is on their website.

I think that depends where you purchase them we have bought from MyMemory and never had a problem starting from Spain in the winter months but MyMemory I believe send theirs sims from Switzerland.

We took our Three mobile broadband from home in December and wasn't able to use it all in France. Never had a problem previously - in fact when we took out the contract we were told that was one of the benefits of having mobile broadband at home.

Correct but those are the ones that refused to start working for us in Spain. We bought three of them, all a total fail.

I have never had any problems with 3, have been with them for several years and winter in Spain for three months for years, I checked with them in a local shop and was told as long as you have Not upgraded contract from October 21 the roaming will still work but haven't had the opportunity to try it as yet.

I would suggest you go into a 3 shop and ask, my dongle did have trouble connecting in a couple of areas but mostly ok

Agreed. I have changed '3' prepaid cards in Spain without problems - could be a different tariff though.
