It has been said that most of us don't use any of the facilities in our motorhome.

What do you use. I've made a poll of likely use combinations please choose one or tell us about what you use.

No point in having things in there if your not going to use them. But do use site facilities when on site most of the time.

As others have said, why have facilities on board and not use them.

I am interested to hear what folk do for toilet facilities if they do not use the on-board one..
I can understand that to some extent if in a caravan so limited where you can stop ( pay through the nose to stop on a field with a toilet on it ), but in a motorhome, where you might stop for a night in the middle of nowhere ?
So are holes dug behind hedges ? Do folk hold it until they find a public loo ?

I think that people who don't use on board facilities are the ones who always stay on sites.
We hardly ever stay on sites so always use on board facilities. We even use them in preference to site facilities on those rare occasions we do use a site. Why walk possibly hundreds of yards for a dump when you don't need to? Or wander around the campsite in your dressing gown getting cold when you can shower and get dressed in your own van?
However the world would be a boring place if we were all the same wouldn't it?

Better Showers in a campsite? are you sure, not a concrete floor with no heating and cold water. One I went in had a frog in it looking at me. The loos abroad are sometimes a drain point type hole in the ground. Maybe be a bit better nowadays.
My MH does not have frogs in it YET, or mice, I hope.

We use all our onboard facilities, tv, fridge, hob, grill, oven, shower and loo (number 1's and number 2's but do use site loo's for number 2's where possible to shall we say keep the air a little fresher)

Better Showers in a campsite? are you sure

Definitely. Though of course not all sites. How can a van with about a gallon of hot water compare to a mains water system with endless hot water. Simples. I do always wear flip flops in the site showers to avoid any chance of verrucas.

July will find me drowning in hot water in Braithwaite Fold.

Villa Sol in Benidorm you can have a combined shower/sauna, there is so much hot water the whole shower block turns into a steam room.

Grantown on Spey you not only get a proper job shower you get HiFi to add to the pleasure.

Shall I go on ?

When choosing the last two vans shower & loo were the most important items in the van for us.
The rare occasion we stay on sites we sometimes use the showers, if just a night or two can't be bothered and will stop for a pee if walking by but will never place my butt on their loo when we have a nice clean one in the van.

If on a campsite and the san facs are usable, I will use them.

I see no point at all using on board facilities like a water tank, water heater, sink and waste tank to wash dishes when a short walk to a site dishwashing area is so much easier with no left over water to dispose of. OK, some might need a bit of a clean up before using but most are usable and have oodles of water.
