user names when registering!!!

hi just a friendly reminder to all registering for the 1st time on this or any forum
pick a user name eg , saruman not your email address !!! you dont want your spam folder filled

Those people who register email adds for user names have probably been caught out by the autofill things that browsers come with these days

yes jim but you dont want all names with co. uk hotmail etc.. or you need a long screen

Most people PM me and get it changed. The last thing you need is your email address on an open forum, we get enough junk as is.

Do people really do this? I suppose they must do, or the thread wouldn't be here - but I just cannot imagine anyone using their email address in this way.oh: It always amazes me when people put their private email addresses in a posting, too ... don't they realise the "private message" function is there to protect their privacy?
