We are never on EHU, but we do not miss that for things like coffee machines, microwave etc., which we do not use at home.

Basia manages for hair drying as she has shortish hair, but I am wondering whether I could make life a bit easier for her by attaching a tube to one of the Truma blown - air outlets.

Has anyone done this?

Most comments about 12v hairdryers are that they are useless.

I am sure it is possible to get the same diameter tube as that behind the outlet, but the problem I foresee is connecting it to the outside of the outlet because of the curved shape and the limit to which one can insert it because of the 'flap'

Anyone found any solutions or suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Hi.
The " Nozzle " bit on ours unscrews , i am sure you could find a flexi pie to fit/join onto the feed pipe from the heater, then the end you need to use as the " hair dryer " sleeve it down to say an old Hoover pipe and she can. " WASH HER MAN RIGHT OUT OF HER HAIR "... don't you just love it when a plan comes together. :ROFLMAO:
Tea Bag. CEO Hair drying is US !!

Truma do a y piece and a blanking cap.
how about one side of y to heater vent and other to a hair tube. Put blank on hair tube when not being used?

What do you do for a vacum cleaner?....... Luvlykins sometimes puts our handheld on reverse...............

One of the things my wife did when we first met and got caught out in the rain was jump in the car and use the Warm air blowing out of the vent in our Cortina.

 :rofl:yeah 32 degrees outside and truma going full pelt to dry the wifes hair, would need to put the aircon on to cool the place down a bit

Years ago, you could actually buy an accessory kit that did this and it worked well. You can also build or buy a kit to dry wet snow boots using the blown hot air

Beat me to it, it was a Carver product probably 30 years ago be for Truma took them over. They used the same vents.

We have a little gas hair styler uses a small butane cartridge. Babyiless & Braun do them £20 to £40.

To be honest I probably wouldn't bother (unless she particularly wants you to of course!) as I can't imagine there'll be enough oomph in the blower for it really to be effective......its usually more the air flow that dries the hair rather than just the heat.

I have very thick hair which in terms of style/length is usually somewhere between a medium and short inverted bob and I use one of these microfibre hair towels from Decathon: https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/soft-microfibre-hair-towel/_/R-p-3937 They're so good that I have one for home and one for the MH...after using it I hardly need to use the hair dryer.

For actual styling, gas tongs or a hot brush would be much more effective (as already mentioned)

I wouldn't bother either. I've got short hair and to be honest it's more bother than it's worth trying to dry it with a hairdryer of any sort!

Did you just jamb the vacuum hose in the vent?
From memory yes. It was a long time ago and when we had an Autotrail.

We now have a Burstner. 👍👍  (standing funster joke).

And if you’re not already aware the overpriced gas cartridges can be refilled multiple times from a Pound Shop butane lighter refill can - check out YouTube videos for “Thermacell Cartridge Refill”.

It’s the same cartridge we use for the Thermacell mosquito repellers (which work very well!).

First thing I'd do is check how powerful the blower is to see if it's sufficient to dry hair, the washroom one is usually the best for this. If you don't have sufficient hair yourself try a passing wet dog! 😆

‘OMG Where’s my dog.’

’oh sorry, I kidnapped it to test my blown air heater’

’OK, fair enough…’

Our warm air heating has four vents including the shower area. All but one can be closed off, so I guess that with the right size pipe and a restricter nozzle on the end of the pipe, it could actually work well with all other vents turned to the off position. (Hmmm... I wonder if my sawdust extraction hose is the right size?) Lesley darling, I want to try something..... ;)

Tried it once, took me 3 hours to get back up again as I didn't have a hose :giggle:

They’re great for blowing war air down the front of your leathers in winter and keeping the jewels nice and warm.

Different hair, but should work 👍🏻
