Good afternoon, Does anyone know of any twin usb sockets which are available that are LED free?
I spent ages hunting for one online that looked led free and finally found one so I ordered.
I was so happy when it was delivered as when I inspected it there was no sign of the pesky blue led light, however my joy was short lived as when I installed it I found out that the whole thing glowed making my wonderful dark bedroom into a bright neon "blue oyster style" light box .
Why the hell they all have to light up like the wrong type of window in Amsterdam is beyond me.

Fit a switch in line with it and turn it off at night.
I fitted 3 in my van all switched mainly because I don't like leaving cheap Chinese products permantly on.

Duct tape to cover the light?

Short them out. I do it unintentionally ?

Cover with a tiny ball of Blutac colour that with a black marker, simples.

Yes, it's annoying when you need to charge up the phone overnight with a bright light filling the whole van! I fitted a standard cigarette socket and then a twin USB adaptor.

Same as Lenny HB i recently installed an usb/cig lighter in ours.

Deliberately bought one with a reasonable sized case so I could drill and fit a small rocker switch.

You could always take it apart and unsolder the Leds, need a small good soldering iron as they are surface mount Leds.

I have seen several of those cheep chinese usb chargers burn out, 2 of them literally involved smoke and the start of flames before blowing the fuse for the circuit

A blob of blutack helps, but still some light leakage. Blue is supposed to be the colour that upsets your sleep the most.

I have fitted 3 of these double USB sockets all individually switched as Lenny has and fused 2 amps, none are in the bedroom Blu tac or black paint on the LEDs does cut down most of the light.

I've used blu tac as well.

I find it easier to find car cig plug usb socket with usb on top and so swopped out one of my usb sockets (bright blue led) and replaced with an additional cig socket - solved it for me.

While talking about USB plugs. Every one we have seems to have one slot which is useless, just give a "slow charge" on our devices the other gives a proper charge.

Anyone here know why they make them like that?

Bought this USB with switch recently. Only lights up when switched on. Doesn't really solve the OP's problem.

Yes I used to hang a sock over them in my last van and am also fitting a switch to switch off when not in use.
However it is for overnight charging of my phone so switching it off isn't an option.

Same problem for me too, I used to like them glowing, now hate it. I found these on amazon and there is no led glow...the worst in my van is the control panel switches, very bright so I put some black tape over them.

Twin USB
