UK gallon is 4.54609 litres with the US gallon slightly less at 3.785411784 litres.

At £1.70 a US gallon makes it a complete joke compared to what brits have to suffer.

And they are moaning like heck at paying so little.

You mean you are paying more than that? time to change to chip oil, :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Unless you have a regular supply of used chip oil (which would need filtering of course), there is not such a great saving to be made as what people believe. Just cost out the cheapest veg oil at your local supermarket.

Also it's not a particularly good idea to use without mixing into diesel, so the actual net cost saving you make in the end is quite small unless you are knocking up a 500+ miles a week.

until chips have been fried in it it is straight vegetable oil off of the supermarket shelf, had I meant that I would have said so!!!!!!!!! Wholesale price of veggie oil is in fact around 90p per litre. It is not a matter of doing 500 miles per week in a car but being able to afford 1500 mile trips in the motorhome at 19mpg.
