Hi all,

We have a ferry booked for wednesday to go round Europe in a 1995 Swift royale 540 (peugeot boxer). Unfortunately one of our rear wheel bearings has gone and the van is stuck in a garage. They have tried factor parts and even peugeot brand bearings that are meant to fit the boxer but they don't fit (68mm outer diameter) - perhaps the bearings were changed when Swift made the van?

Can anyone help us find the right part? apparently it should have a 70mm outer diameter.

Many thanks in advance,

Ralph.

Can't remember ;)
We have a bearing place on a industrial estate near to us and several in towns around,- If you get the bearing out/off they all have numbers on :thumb: this would get you the right bearing.See if you have the same around where you live ?It will be the same bearing as fitted by Peugeot,Swift will not have changed them at all.
Our local one says so long as he has the number he can get the bearing to fit anything.

Since 2005
if the van is on an Alko chassis then the fiat or pug bearings wont fit.

only options are 1) a bearing supplier
as mentioned, or Alko-Kober.

Sorry, I had put the post on here first before realising there was a pergeot technical forum.

Many thanks for all your help - I'll get back to the garage to ask about the bearing number. They seem to be struggling when it doesn't quite go as it should.

They ordered a factor bearing which should fit a boxer, but it was wrong size (68mm), so then relied on peugeot to supply the part, 2 days later it arrived but it was also not the right size (68mm), they blamed swift as must have modified, 2 bearings are arriving today, but it seems like the al-ko axle may be correct. I'm just happy this didn't happen over on the continent or would have been even more of a nightmare! Guess we will just have to delay the ferry booking  shame as is the start of a year away.

Thanks again,

Ralph.
