All the plugs look different so it would appear impossible to put wrong plug into wrong sockets

Does this help? It's the older model (not Type A) but might be of use.

The 4-way push-on connectors have the terminals doubled up because the amps is too high for a single terminal. Each terminal can only carry about 15 amps.

The wires are colour-coded, but the letters are a bit obscure:
B = black, R = red, W = white, N =brown, U = blue, Y = yellow, O = orange.
They appear to correspond to your picture.

I don't think they are keyed differently. Looking at the sockets, all four smaller sockets look the same, as do the two big ones. One would have thought they should be keyed differently...

According to the manual, the four 4-ways, left to right:
RED: Power input from alternator/starter battery, probably only when engine running.
GREEN: Power output to fridge 12V heater element (large fridge).
BLACK: Charge output to leisure battery, Power output to fridge 12V heater element (standard fridge).
WHITE: Power to/from starter battery. Not used on yours, I think.

The RED 15-way has various wires from the vehicle, including the 'engine running' signal.
The WHITE 15-way has various wires to habitation functions like step and awning light.
