Sadly had to give up

at 8:00 this morning the fridge started beeping.
It is a Dometic tower type fridge freezer.
We were on EHU and all other appliances working fine.
Tried switching to gas, beeping continued. Checked that there was gas (practically full) and that there was a good flame to the hob.
Start the engine, it won't go on 12v either.
I phoned the dealer as the van is only 1 year old, service manager thinks it's probably electronics and will require a new control unit.
We are in Morocco and according to Dometics site there is noDometic agent in Morocco.
We are on our way from Marrakech to Agadir to see Mustafa our trusted repair man in Morocco.
Anybody got ideas on what might be the problem and what we met be able to do to avoid spending the next three months without a fridge freezer?

Hi Mike
Which model is it?

Can't find the service book at the moment Daryl. I'll check as soon as we stop.

The attached pdf. See the troubleshooting at the end (y)

You two and Morroco don't really get on do you:LOL:

Jim thanks for finding that thread. The solution was in the last post.
PRESS THE RESET BUTTON!
Doh!
Wish I'd know about that before getting halfway from Marrakech to Agadir. Turning round now as we have to pick up Gwen's relatives in Marrakech tomorrow.

You'd have thought that the Dometic engineer would have asked if you'd tried the re-set button.
Mind you, he's probably on commision

Yet again an example of all the skill being knowing where to hit something which is not working. Most of us would have realised that the 'fridge needed a good kicking but it take real knowledge to know you should kick the reset button.

Glad all now sorted. Jim probably now cursing he let you become a Life Member as he can't now add his fee for remote 'fridge diagnostics to your subs next year. :):):)
