Update. Stripped it down virtually to just a shell. Motors all stripped and cleaned out, new bearings , greased properly cleaned all connections.sealed all possible water entry points. Fitted home made sealing strip all the way round rotating top. sanded down and repainted casings outside with smooth hammerite .
Found new software
Its so quiet now and locks on straight away.
Should last more than the 3 years it lasted previously.
Wonder how many have chucked theirs in the bin when they've failed.
