Up-rating weight and tax refund (1 Viewer)

About to buy another van which is rated 3500kg, which I intend to up-rate more or less straight away.
I obviously have to tax it at £265 rate to collect it but how do I go about getting a refund for the £165 rate?
Is it done automatically?

I sold a vehicle 5 weeks ago. Notified change of owner. Still waiting for tax to be refunded. Web site says to wait 8 weeks before querying it.
They must be sitting on an absolute fortune of other people's money

Got my refund automatically in 3-4 weeks
