Simon Calder claims the current essential travel FO advice will be in place until next summer.

I think that he said that it "is in place" but I was expecting it to be changed before then

Grant Shapps suggested today that “air bridges” will be established to various countries by the end of June and that will eradicate the need for quarantine in those cases. He also said that, in conjunction with the air bridges agreements, FCO advice was being reconsidered.

So it sounds hopeful to me.

He actually said "at the moment" the advice stands til next summer. He went on to say " nobody knows"
