On 3rd van so not a total newbie....
Out dethleffs a class obviously has the same wipers and wiper patterns as the standard ducato van however the windscreen is far larger, this results in the drivers wiper stopping about 12 inches from the pillar, not so bad this time of year when roads are fairly clean, but I can imagine when the screen is covered in salty spray, it would leave a massive blind spot, can the wipers be adjusted? Or is this just a side effect of driving an a class?

You've got me thinking, not noticed the same problem in our Hymer A class but have noticed the wippers are very long and now remembered that I forgot to get spares before leaving home.! As I thought they were. It standard Fiat blades and thus perhaps not readily available

I think you will find that most A class have a chunk of unswept screen including ours, it's partly to do with wiper position and length but also possibly the edges of the screen have too much curve to be wiped successfully.

I have noticed this being a problem so possibly you are imagining a problem that might not exist.

To answer your question I guess you could fit longer blades but only on one side as they would foul in the middle, so then possibly fit longer arms but would they reach round the curve of the screen and is it worth it for a problem that might not exist;)

I have just moved the wiper blade arm on the spindle. In heavy rain the drivers side blade was catching the passenger side. Moved them up a couple of notches on the splines and they are far better.

Long time
Our lefty Hymer has 3 blades and someone we know has a righty but it still has the lefty configuration of blades so the unswept area of the screen would be a big problem for them!

That may well be the biggest issue here as many converters don't "hand" the wipers for the steering wheel position.

Depends to some degree on model and year of build. My 2016 B544 Hymer has 3 blades and cover is good.

just fitted new wipers to the rv, even at 33" long ,a lot of the screen is not covered.

but really the only part that needs to be clear is were you look out.

the very top and bottom imo you dont need to see through.

Our Rapido has 3 blades as well. They're bigger than standard so coverage is fine.

It depends on the drivers height as to how much of a problem it is. I posted last year about the same problem on our Carthago. Eventually the dealers sorted out a blade with an angled arm, it made it a bit better. Carthago would not accept it being a problem, so we had to pay for the new arm.
We were quite prepared to reject our new MH if it had the same wiper arms fitted, when it arrived last week both blades were ok.

The top and bottom are not an issue it's more a vertical strip about a foot wide on the right hand edge of the screen, so longer wipers would make no difference.

Our DL sweeps to the edge of the flat section of the screen. Depends on how much effort the manufacturer puts into the desgin.
You could try longer blades that would give some improvement from the centre of the blade upwards but it it only has small blades don't put a too bigger blade on as it could overload the motor.
