Unidentifiable Reversing Monitor - please help (1 Viewer)

When we bought our van the previous owner had removed the reversing monitor but left the mount, cable and the camera in the back bumper.

I would like to buy the same monitor presuming that I can just plug it in and it will work (according to the manual the 13 pin plug will include the 12v power feed). Unfortunately although I have the instruction manual for the monitor it does not have any reference to a brand or model.

Can anyone help identify this and suggest a source for buying a replacement?
Attached are pictures of the mount & cable on dashboard and some pages from the manual.

you could always contact the previous owner and ask them they may have taken it out and just have it sitting on a shelf somewhere thinking they may use it again.

that would be my first port of call then maybe look at a complete replacement system even one of the cheap and cheerful ones that maplin do.

Unfortuantely there is no contact information in the manual. Even the FCC / CE approval declarations don't have reference numbers (I've identified computer motherboards via the FCC codes previously).

I will contact the previous owner - he might have the unit or be able to tell me who installed it.

if you bought from a dealer have you asked them if they have it ?

many dealers remove them when on sale due to many being stolen.

We did buy from a dealer but they confirmed that they did not have the monitor or the dashboard Radio/CD and that the original owner had removed them. We got a replacement CD as part of the deal but could get them to throw a monitor in.

I will try Guardian during the week.

Replacement monitor alone is £180 mark.

You can get another system from £190 which comes as the monitor and another camera (which you could use as the front)
