There have of late been a large number of posts regarding basic 12volt functions as well as Solar installation etc. It has been suggested that I run a seminar to include
    basic 12v circuits
    Use of a miltimeter
Ohms law and how to use it.
    Solar panel connection, installation, use.
This will be a hands on course with everybody getting a chance to get their hands on meters etc and use them to solve problems.
    Plus any other matters arising.
Rather than charge for a dedicated course at commercial rates I have decided to offer it for free. If sufficient numbers of people are interested then I will conduct it as a rally lasting 5 days for the rally fee of £25 per van.
please reply to this thread if you are genuinely interested in coming to Devon and say when would suit you. August/Sept maybe.

Nothing is better than face to face hands on.

That's one generous offer, commercial courses would be £500+ a day.

I offered to run one some time ago..
As I lectured amateur radio and basic electrical circuits for many years I had all the bits needed to teach and physically show........ Even bought a pile of multimeters to give away free for anyone who did not have one..

Lots of folk expressed an interest but not a soul actually wanted to take part ( but then I was doing it for free, perhaps a charge and the chance of a weekend plotted up may encourage folk :winky: )

    Workshop

Hi I would be interested as well but it would need to be September and I don't think I could manage 5 days as will have just returned from being away in August with the family and wouldn'be be able to get another 5 days off.

looks like Sept may be more popular. I can make it a five day rally with a weekend seminar so those that can only attend a few days won't miss it. how about dates so as not to clash with shows rallies already booked?

I could certainly come and appraise the situation, could take a couple of weeks mind, send ticket and expenses, or tanker full of fuel if I am to bring out a load of tools.

    Hello Wildman

If your still thinking of running your electrics for dummies course. we are interested. If you held it just before the Shepton show it would suit us and maybe the others that expressed an interest. Went out and bought a multimeter thing (still in packaging) when I first read about this, but couldn't find the thread and forgot about it until today when we were having a heated debate about fuses & connectors in B&Q, which was pointless because neither of us know what we're talking about,so a little basic knowledge wouldn't go amiss.
