Since july 2009 And Still Going Strong
I’ve 2 13kg calor in back of van but going to either swap to 1 or 2 refillable 11kg or a 30ish litre underslung.
Cost wise bottles are slightly cheaper but underslung would give me extra storage space and spread the load further forward.

Main contenders are Autogas 2000, Gasit or Gaslow.
Any recommendations of the above appreciated please.

Thanks, Shawn.

We have 2 x 11kg Gaslow system that works really well. I think it gives me 44 litres x 80% = 35l of gas. I think your decision depends on how much storage you have or need. Either is definitely preferable to lifting big gas bottles in and out of the van!

It's 44 Lt of gas, bottle size is the capacity allowing for the 20%, underslung tanks do not allow for it so a 30 Lt tank will hold 24 Lt.

To get the same capacity as 2 x 11kg bottles you would need a 55 Lt tank.

If you want to keep the weight down at the rear you could get Alugas bottles they come in 11 & 14 kg.

You also have Safefill bottles as another option.
I run with 2 X 20kg bottles.

my van hold 2 x 13kg bottles currently use 1 x 11kg refillable plus empty space. If I am worried about getting refilled while away I throw in a spare calor 6 or13kg as a backup. To run single refillable would be lightest and cheepest and give extractor space, would not buy gasit as level gauge is useless if running a single. A single 11kg gives nearly as much as a van fitted 2 x 6kg.

I'm not sure but isn't there an issue with some suppliers and or petrol stations over refillable bottles insofar as they won't permit refilling?
If so, and l'm sure others on here will advise, then underslung my be the better option?

I have an underslung which has the advantages you mention, so would recommend that if funds allow.
The beauty, of course, of refillable is that you can top up whenever you pass a supply, don't have to wait until empty - and personally I believe that means you need less capacity compared to regular cylinders

I think you mean 2 x 10Kg = 20Kg. There advantage of Safefill is lighter weight and you can see through the translucent tank how much gas you have. The only downside is that some placesobject to direct fill. Not found it a major problem though. Been turned away once in five years.

I have used Autogas a number of times over the years and highly satisfied.
Just had a 44litre underslung Tank fitted to my new MH and they did a fantastic job of it as it was a bit complex.
Incidentally, the day prior to my visit a couple travelled all the way from Devon to Thirsk for a fitting based solely on Autogas reputation.

gasit all the way

Safefill have the advantage that they are very light being composite bottles if weight is a real issue.

Stop your whining! Try getting by on a single Camping Gaz 907! 🤣🤣🤣 (like we have to)

Autogas 2000 have fitted systems in our present van and the previous one. Both were single cylinder with the option of fitting a second cylinder at a later date - something we have not needed to do.

We also have an external BBQ point which is used a great deal.

Our current van doesn't have a lot of room underneath for a tank which is why we went for the cylinder.

I have a used auto gas 2000 in Thirsk before. First class service and technical ability. Couldn’t recommend them more highly, with photographs supplied throughout
