Has anybody tried in the event of empty main gas tanks to run a gas bottle through the bbq point. Im led to believe its possible with a reg on the bottle but by my reckoning it would mean running in reverse through the reg on the main tank.... Is this possible

enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
Are you trying to fill the tank or just use the additional cylinder for 'back up/emergency supply'?

Is your BBQ point on the low or high pressure side as that might make a difference.

If using the BBQ point it would going straight into the gas system and not going through tank regulator. You can buy a hose that lets you connect a cylinder to the fill point.

When the bbq is attached it doesnt require a reg so is on the 30mb side of the tank, low

When the bbq is attached it doesnt require a reg so is on the 30mb side of the tank, low side and only for back up, so only if the tank is empty

If it's on the LP side then connecting to the BBQ point via a suitable connection (Inc regulator) should provide a supply, a bit like having a twin cylinder system. HOWEVER, I would do some research first (as you are doing) as I'm sure this has been discussed before on the forum as there may be a very good reason why you shouldn't do it !!!

Yes because it’s coming from the tank which has a regulator but if going in through bbq point you need regulator because your entering the system after the tank regulator

This is what you need to connect to bbq point but make sure you have a regulator on the gas bottle as your entering the system after the Mh regulator, so you need three things Bullfinch fitting gas pipe and bottle regulator and away you go :)

Thanks for the info, Ive been directed to a parts supplier that enables me to attach to the filler point direst to a spare bottle that will allow me to run from a bottle. Seems ideal. Im going to have a go with that
