Getting Better
Brought forward the mot on our van yesterday as we will be away when it’s due early next march....

Anyway the tester said it’s really clean underneath and sometimes sees problems (rust?) with the front steering pipes and also the brake pipes running along to the back, having looked my self it did look clean and in very good order but I would have expected it to be as it’s a 2012 Fiat..... its not undersealed but does look like some kind of clear soaked in coating? Wax oil? Or something...
I have mudflaps and have never washed underneath....

how clean is yours...?

Yes pretty clean 2014 boxer. If I see any problem areas that could rust in future I spray white grease on it ?
That’s what he said they do but mine didn’t need it so they missed an opportunity to make a few bucks.... seems I’ve found a good garage...?

That was one of the first things the chap said when he was buying our last van, ? that's was also 2012 might have been a good year for them. ?
The salt they spread on the roads, is not good for them. ?

We always moved our mot to August, ? it gave us the option of July / August and hopefully was a nice time to visit the UK. ? Bob.

I pressure wash the underside of mine after Winter (salty) trips or if I pick up mud at anytime. But it doesn't seem to get very dirty most of the time .

I use Tide to clean ours. Because we live near the sea, i drive ours onto the beach and leave it 12 hours until the tide has gone back out again, my grandma said Tide was the best for washing, so why should i doubt her wisdom .....

At home I wash mine regularly including all wheel arches & as much of underneath as I can. The underside is as new although I think the paint finish was far better & thicker years ago. 30 years old now.

I walk under my van with the MOT tester and he always sprays white grease on pipes etc if necessary. FOC!
