i have an auto trail apache with the external flap shelf thingy at the back wher spare wheel inside this , the edge of the woode floor bit that points to the back is bare along the edging would it be best to under seal/paint this

I did mine with rubberoid .Any bare would should be sealed to avoid swelling and eventual rot.

Sealing wood is not a good idea as that is the quickest way to make it rot as it also seals in the moisture. Use something that still allows the wood to breath.

AutoTrail evidently didn't know either so they just left it natural. We sealed plywood on boats using thin epoxy resin. This soaks in and hardens protecting the wood. Done from both sides the wood was impervious to water.
