It is a ridiculouse situation,it happens time and time again,businesses go bust,set up a new company,change the name,same people,the prisons would be full of them

Yes, there was legislation going through parliament (Goods Mortgage Bill) which may help innocent buyers in these situations. It stalled firstly because of Brexit and then Covid. Lord Stevenson of Balmacara is sponsoring the bill and trying to get back for a second reading.

Trouble is, as with many things, on here motorhomers are the number one priority but out in the big world we are a very small minority and largely looked on as people who are ripe for getting screwed and no one is bothered.

What about the mislead investors, their are two sides to all stories.
Every time I see a similar story the outcome is "we will learn from this" alternatively a knee jerk introduction of "New legislation".
When returns are above the market norm then it's probably too good to be true. Think Woodford and the KCC pension fund!

Agreed, I am unable to understand this.
Why are they still out of jail ?

There is a very basic law called 'Nemo Dat', it's lesson one for any trainee solicitor.
It's also trainee level lessons for anyone involved in any broking function.

Basically the Nemo Dat law says you can not sell what you do not own.

Therefore I'd say the law is on the side of the owners of the Chattel Mortgages, as they were not discharged.
However the person that should be paying are the scammers Andrew Hughes (of Golders Farm, Fox Road, Bourn, Cambridgeshire) and Karen Oakley as they have in effect have sold the same vehicle twice.
