Just impossible to see the above 2 dials without the Headlight On[ this then put on the illuminated dials -and All is OK ] NO illumination without the Headlight on. Whilst I do drive with them on a lot ..surely you should not be forced to ??
So even on bright sunlit days those 2 dials cannot be seen.

Remember the DRLs are ON anyway when the engine is running anyway.

Unless I have not read any NEW laws regarding Headlights being ON always...
[quite possible ] according to my wife !!

All 'Funster' Topical comment most welcome please...(y)

Lots about this on existing threads (use search). In summary

Dipped headlights are legal
Use existing GPS
Get separate GPS speedo
Fit LED on steering column

It's a Fiat, you will learn to live with it and be glad of it in time

The right direction is here: http://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum...-lighting-solution.120878/page-7#post-2041250

You need to use the "Search" facility (top right corner) to look up other relevant threads

I have summarised the only solutions I can think of above., you have to make your own choices I'm afraid. Be thankful you have a FIAT, though, whilst you may not see the speedo, at least you'll find it where you left it (obscure reference to the lack of security with Ford bases)

See post #136 on link from pyro. Thats my solution. In test at the moment.

Fiat do a software upgrade to put dash illumination on all the time. I believe you have to register for it. It has mixed reactions but largely negativei.e it is not effective enough. I've not had mine done yet.

Perhaps you need to adjust your seat, both up down/back, and if you have an adjustable steering wheel position, do that too. Complicates things, IF, you are tall.
When we bought our present car I could not see the top of the speedo. It just needed the wheel and the seat adjusting.
Same with our M/H
I had to put more lean on the back of the seat, etc etc etc.

The Fiat upgrade can be got for free by phoning your local Fiat Pro dealer. They looked at mine to confirm I needed it and then I took it back later to get it fixed. That was because at the time they looked the fix was not yet available. Now I would think they will be able to look at it and fix it at the same time, because the fix is only a software update that keeps the dial lights on whenever the ignition is on. Better than before but still not perfect.

I would suggest that would be your best bet to start with and then look at alternative home made cures if you are still not happy.
