I have purchased an inverter that has gone wrong bought it new in February 2022 and so far the company has not replied to 3 emails requesting a way forward for repair or replacement.

Has anyone else had problem with warranty with this company

Have a look back at your purchase on eBay, all the contact details should be on the original advert.

One of them, or possibly their father?

That would worry me, what’s a builder know about making/importing Invertors ? Good luck with your quest.

Maybe they are into campers and decided to start a side business importing (ie buying from china) and selling online. Its something I considered a couple of years ago. They sell a lot of the same stuff as photonic universe.

There are loads and loads of sellers on ebay who wouldn't know an Invertor from a Lemon Souffle, or any other product they sell. they just buy in and sell whatever products seem to be popular at the time. The same is true of Amazon Marketplace and indeed Amazon themselves.
I personally would be very wary of getting anything complex from an eBay seller where I expected to get any service or warranty from (bit like the chinese diesel heaters.... you get them from eBay as they are the best prices but you don't expect to get anything at all in case of problems after 30 days have elapsed)

I phoned the number that was connected to the business address and spoke to an irritated Father saying you will have to message my son through ebay. He refused to give me any contact number .
The conversation was very short

Wonder if the guy you spoke to was Director, Walter Terence Edge and he's passing you onto the other Director James Edward Edge? If so, suggest you write to both at the address given.

You say you have emailed. Have you tried contacting through eBay?

Does ebay's T&C's not stipulate they have to respond within a certain timeframe?
If they do, suggest you raise a complaint with ebay.

This message was sent on the 1st october.

I have now had a message back asking for more detail
1. what installation and set up i have .
2. and any photos

TBH, this is why I tend to buy well know kit direct from distributors of said well known kit.
In the last couple of months had issues with a Victron Cyrix CT Battery Combiner and a Victron MPPT Controller. Reported the fault with details of what wasn't working. In both cases, replacements were authorised and replacements sent out* with instructions to destroy the original items.

* I am expecting the replacement MPPT today in fact.

I hope you get your issue sorted out and a replacement sent, but it is good to avoid the hassle to start with when possible.

Thanks i hope so too.

After giving all the info and photos of it in action.
James has concluded due to the humbing noise created and that the casing screws are tight (i told him they were tight)
That there is something loose inside. He has advised not to take the casing off but to send it back so he can open it and see.

Well I know this not to be the case and that the is a fault somewhere. Well it is a packaged up and ready for courier to collect at my expense
.
He will receive it tommorrow next day delivery signed for and insured.

I have also asked him to ensure it is tested all working before he sends it back.

What this space for the next episode

As an aside, I was trying to find some cheap but usable small inverters and bought 3 different ones off Amazon a few years ago....
one had a rattle and a screw fell out when I shook it. the 2nd one had a couple of screws in the box. the third one clearly had something loose inside it when I shook it. Didn't actually try any of them but sent them all back!

Anyway ... Your Inverter/Charger ... does it actually work albeit noisily? or is it so noisy you don't want to risk even leaving it on for any time? (which can be perfectly understandable as well). Something could have come loose and created a noise in operation (I remember a PC I built suddenly became very noisy - and when I took the cover off, ironically the problem was the label on the fan (stating it was a 'silent fan' had dropped off and the fan vanes were hitting it :) )

Hi Any discription i gave of humbing etc is quite normal for these inverters my last sterling power which is deemed a better quality ,when working on 12v made the same noises. There is nothing loose inside . Any noises it makes doesnt bother me . its the fact it does not produce power to work anything when using the 12v batteries . when last tested to show the supplier with photos the 4 x trojan batteries showed 80% full on the inverter. But thanks for sharing your past experience.
These power star inverters are at the lower end price rang but they are still just under £500

Hi Nothing yet, Sent the inverter by next day delivery by courier on thursday and only had an email from the guy James saying
"thanks for letting me know"

I have also emailed him asking for any update but heard nothing back.
I was hoping for an email to say all received and will be testing it this weekend or on monday or whenever.

Next job is to call them.

Or if you paid by credit card, get them to do the work.
Now having been able to get contact made will see how it goes. and thanks

Well i have had no phone call message or email from him since the one on friday thanking me for letting him know that he would recive it that day
This morning (monday) i recieve a text from APC that a parcel is arriving at the company that name was on the tape i used to package the box in. ??

Now having been able to get contact made will see how it goes. and thanks
They will probably send you another one but tell you there was nothing wrong with it as if they admitted it was faulty they would have to pay your return costs.

I had a desiel heater that was faulty the supplier refused to pay return costs saying nothing wrong with it. Bought it on Amazon so I got onto them they credited my return cost & charged the supplier.
When you have problems Amazon is much better than ebay.

Hi It would be nice if you are right. But my gut feeling because i have not been told whats going on is.

He said he felt it was a loose internal connection.
On the website he does not advertise this inverter.
We will see if its my one returned.
I have not been asked to pay any return cost

I got the impression from your post you had paid, so that sounds better.
Hi cross wires,I thought you meant for the return of inverter to me from him.

Sorry Yes i paid for the inverter to be sent to him, which is of course is the return. I did this off my own back though to move forward and get somewhere.
