If ( IF ) we do stay in the UK this year, I am looking for suggestions..
Location does not matter but we are discounting Ireland this year ) as this wee isle is just too wee to worry about it !
An example ...... I would like to go back to Cardiff and take in the Dr Who exhibition...
Sooooo.. Sights to see and things to do..
Where would the panel suggest ?

That's a huge question. :) May and June can be very good for the west coast of Scotland and the Isles. Where have you not been? We are planning to look at the English east coast early this year as it isn't a place I know at all and early in the year it should be drier than almost anywhere else in the UK. :)

Whilst your in Wales you may as well continue down the South coast then follow it up the North Coast then maybe cut across to Snowdon.
That should keep you busy for a bit :)

There is not many places I have not been to be honest... Scottish highlands and up, to Plymouth and around...
Done most of the Lochs too :)
That is the problem with years of long distance dispatch work !
Do not want scenery so much as places of interest

Lovely area and we will be there or there abouts for a while, but for both of us scenery is not top of the list.. one rock is much the same as another, and one beach is the same as a lot of beaches :)

Just thought of another place as an example to help.... Saltburn,. just to ride the funicular

Been watching Facebook groups about motorhome parking and seeing lots of places basically shutting down parking places as hotels and B&B's want us stopped so that they can get customers

Most places already noticing lack of revenue but acting like Ostriches (Whitby)

Our favourite parking place at Cleethorpes was closed down because a local site complained (AFAIK) a pitiful excuse as it only held 15 vans max

Coming from your flat place thought you'd like a few hills up here in the Peak District though do agree Wales is nice don't forget N Wales as well

I would always ask @Carol for advice. Her and Eddie have done different areas of the UK over the years ..

If you're starting at Cardiff you could meander up through Wales, stopping at Cwmcuttan ( lovely small site, very quiet) then on to Snowdonia. You could stay at Beddgelert C&CC site. Steam train stops on the site and you can travel either north to Caernarfon or south to Porthmadog ( beautiful beach) On up to Chester?

Cardiff Doctor Who exhibition closed just over a year ago unfortunately...

Cornwall: Lost Gardens of Heligan & Eden Project
Somerset: Cheddar valley & Wells Cathedral.
Shropshire & Wye valley: Ludlow & Hay-on-Wye
Lancaster: Fascinating city (cathedral, castle & museums) with easy access to moorlands, beach (Morecombe) & Lake District.

Beulieu, Sammy Miller's, Duxford, MOSI Manchester.

That's about it.

Since few people go to specsavers, I repeat this for you:

Do not want scenery so much as places of interest

Well at risk of being called an FLT you can't do much more interesting than Liverpool and Chester in the North West both easily commutable from New Brighton for diddly sh*t especially with yer bus pass:LOL:

Northumberland is lovely. Plenty of beaches to walk on fabulous scenery .
You so right, it is lovely :-)
But..........
Sorry... that sort of thing is lovely for a day at most for us..As mentioned not really that 'into' scenery... we much prefer physical ( sort of ) interaction :-)

Ok, but take away the scenery and what is there ?
We are more 'sarf end Kersal' than walks in the dales folk :-)
We have done places like Blackpool to death almost !

Cardiff Doctor Who exhibition closed just over a year ago unfortunately...
Oh poop ! Bang goes that one then !

London? Only snag would be finding a site near a railway station with room. Most seem booked up far ahead.

I will add Beulieu to the list Brian good idea that, but I more or less have a pass to Duxford being so close.. Sammy Millers place is excellent .. been there a couple of times but it will def stand another visit !

We would like to go back to Liverpool again as we have only see a bit of it.. Can you gimme an idea of where to plot up in New Brighton ?

We are ex-pat Londoners !
Could not wait to escape :-)
I was dragged to all the places like St Pauls, The Mall, Tower of London, Trafalgar, Hampton Court and more recently the London Eye, madame tussauds ( the new exhibition ) etc etc..

Apart from the living museum at Beamish, are there other places similar ? We have enjoyed our visits there :-)

Ironbridge - lots of things to see and do there, if you’re into birth of the industrial revolution type stuff.
Another good one ! I have def added that to the list !

Edinburgh area where you can visit the ‘royal yacht’ Brittania. It’s a fascinating attraction and is well worth a visit.

Close by also is the Falkirk Wheel (the location has toilets and showers if you (pay to) stay overnight).

Also close by are the Kelpies.

All of the above are well worth a visit.

If that’s behind .. old Zoo or nowadays theme park... Not closed down... as yet... no signage last time I was there... and purposely looked - as it’s my home at times...

It was Boxing day that I walked passed last... (out wi family) see front fresh air..

However, the car park was brimming - with cars...

Also... there is a little know “park-up” at the Wonderland end...

Gated.. (you get a key).. £10 per night...

Kings Parade, Public toilet within hundred yards. Maritime Museum Kings Dock not to be missed along with The Cavern and a whole host of other attractions too many to name. Don't though discard Chester if you want to get to the Heart look at The little Roodee Car park very modest charges and within 10 minutes walk of the city centre whilst parked on the banks of the beautiful River Dee.
