I understand that most new British Motorhomes built since 2001 should each have:

  • A unique Motorhome Identification Number (MIN), plus an electronic tag hidden in the bodywork holding the MIN number
  • A 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
I have never owned a European Motorhome, can someone tell me if they use similar identification schemes on the continent. Is there a Europe wide scheme or do France and Germany have there own schemes. Thanks

Felt sorry for the fellow that had to clear his stuff
out of the caravan purchased for cash
the seller met him half way to save him the full journey

I have a small bit of plastic in the door well that if you lift it out with a screwdriver reveals a plate with a long number on it. Never tried to check what it is though.

Maybe someone can confirm where the VIN No. on a Boxer is?
