Never heard this before! I was having my M/H tyres checked and asked the chappie doing them about side walls splitting, he said when the vehicle is parked up and not going to be moved for some time cover the tyres with a plastic bag especially in warm weather this stop the walls from splitting.Not sure on this one.

Various things get at them one of which is UV, so a cover to block the UV should help, keeps 'em clean too::bigsmile:

It's not uncommon to see the wardens' motorhomes at C&CC sites with wheel covers on, e.g. there was one at Charmouth last week. Those vehicles have probably been parked up all 'summer'.
