Tyre leader seem good value. Depends on tyre size tho. 2 x Michelin Agilis camping 215/70 R15 came to just under £ 226 including delivery.

Hi Hugh,

Try Etyres online , Black circles, or camskill. There are a few others - but a local place may be able to source at a good price as well. Etyres do a mobile service. Cheers

Edit - just seen the above post.... that is where I got mine from!!

I wanted 225/75 R16 Continental Vanco Fourseason 2 mud+snow tyres which I ordered through https://www.easywheels.co.uk/
The site is easy to use and you can search for the nearest fitting centre by inputting your postcode. Fitting was included in the price, which was £163.50 per tyre. They had to order the tyres from Germany but only took a couple of days to arrive. I struggled to find other suppliers in the UK for that size of tyre and when I was in Germany in the summer I was quoted 800 euros fitted for the same tyres which was comparable..:)

I used Etyres. They were brilliant. Came and fitted them at home and did an excellent job. They even matched another quote, so why not look around and then call a mobile company (had my car tyres fitted by mobile Kwik Fit) and see if they'll match the price and then sit back with a brew while you watch them do all the work :)

Damn, just tried this site and the tyres were £100 cheaper, although fitting would probably be around £50. I hate doing that..:swear2:

Never expected to see "Chinese" and "quality" in a sentence about vehicle tyres..........
i have been using chinese tyres on my m,bikes for years . find them excellant . have had slvakia ones on the truck found them good as well . will see how these go . but so far a nice smooth ride .
i need the extra high load range to keep it as standard for the plating . but i dont bother with plating or testing really as its exempt . but have to keep within the rules .
if i could have dropped the load range it would have been much cheaper about 60 quid a tyre then .
remember folk do drive mercedes and bmw vehicles are they quality ?
also made in china .

Fair enough, but the motorcyclists I know would not touch them (I always used Michelin tyres on all my bikes) but each to their own. Our view is that the tyres are the only contact patch between the rider/driver and a big accident so no compromises.

buy a new bmw m,bike it might come with chinese tyres the bike would have been made in china .
even in the 70,s i always liked the jap tyres i had on m,bikes . used to buy the ones others had took off from new i got them cheap as well.
at one time i worked for michelin so i am conversant on tyres .
chinese products are great you just have to buy the right ones .
if these play up dont worry i,ll let you know .

Components and engines - not vehicles, which is what was stated several posts ago. :restmycase:

Anyway, back to OP - hope Hugh has the information that was needed (y)

my ex brother-in-law was a director of one of the biggest component suppliers to the automotive industry worldwide. the factories that make the parts are in various places including china. only the box, barcode and printing changes between manufacturers.
its all about economy of scale, and manufacturing to the cheapest price offset against acceptable numbers of failures per million units

the chinese and the koreans are excellent at copying technology and producing a cheaper equivalent
