I bought a Tyrepal Colour Pro last month and found that I had a leak from one of the sensors. I have now had time to check this out and it appears that the sensor is fine but there appears to be a problem with the valve stem. It does not seal to the sensor body (tried different sensors on the same wheel and still had a leak). I have smoothed out any imperfections on the mouth of the valve but still a leak. My only conclusion is that the valve end is not square with the valve body. HAs anyone else had similar? I have screwed up the sensors really tight and still a leak. I'll just have to run with a three wheel system for now until the new van arrives (this year? next year?)

You could be right about the valve top being slanted. You could try doubling upon the washer inside the sensor which would give it more squash or for a permanent solution have the valve body changed.

Just spent an hour or two checking for square and I'm pretty sure it is ok. My only conclusion now is that the valve stem is porous. Can't be anything else. I could put some plumbers silicone sealant on the thread but don't want to risk contaminating the sensor. I may try that with the tyre inflator. There is also a leak when that is connected up.

Thanks for the tip about an extra washer but will that not compromise the valve opening? We should be getting a new van at the end of the year (or beginning of next!) so I'll probably not bother with a sensor on that wheel in the mean time.

I would only put a cap that heavy on a steel valve. It has to stress a rubber one which will give out eventually.

They are metal valves.
