I recently fitted TyrePal TPM kit to the MH. For some reason the temp warning alarm on 1 of the front wheels is flashing and sounder is going off.

Could the problem be that I have not altered the 70degrees factory default setting when I installed the kit.

I have trawled through Google and can not find anything relating to tyre temperatures. I was therefore wondering if any knowledgeable people on the forum there might know the optimum temperature for these tyres Michelin AGILIS Camping 225/75R16CP – 116Q.

I've set the pressures thus; 65psi front and 80psi rear. The max GVW is 3850kgs if that make any difference, I would say we normally run with between 100 & 150kgs margin to spare

Thanking you in anticipation as always.

it is quite likely that the tyres would get above that temperature especially at the moment.

The tyre temp also increases a lot if you're using the brakes quite a bit ie on long descents. Mine kept going off so i just tweaked up the setting until it remained within range whilst still being able to give a warning when needed, sorry i forgot what value i set mine to.

I think I set mine to 86 °.

Exactly as Ridgeway has said.

Ours was going off in Austria on some of the long Alpine decents we made.

I was also surprised just how much the temperature and tyre pressure increases on the motorway in v. hot weather. First noticed in South of France, on the Med.

And like Ridgeway, I can't remember off hand what temperature I reset the alarm to.

Don't forget, the standard pressures are at sea level. Get up on mountain passes etc the pressure in the tyres will rise as outside pressure decreases.
At 10000ft the air pressure is 10psi
At sea level its 14.5psi

As always, thanks for all the responses. I'll have a go at 86 ° as mentioned by Lenny.

I needed to adjust ours upwards too, was surprised at how hot they got but always stabilised at 80°. If they get any higher I slow down for a bit, 60mph seems to heat them up.
I don't think having all weather tyres helps though.

Its reckoned to be 195F (90C ) that tyres start to suffer shorter life .

As above, mine seem to settle at 80, they're inflated to 70 front and rear, alarm warning set for 83 so I can slow down or stop and cool if required, never happened though.

Thank you all for your responses. I'll up the limit to 80° and see how I get on.

Thanks once again

My pressures on tyrepal goes up by about 10psi on a run and the temperature goes up a bit.
it goes off on a roundabout when the vehicle leans left and right. I suppose they are actually accurate?
