Going to fit new tyres to the MH this week. I can't decide between continental camper tyres or Hankook Vantra tyres. I have a really hard ride on the Michelin's at the moment so want a softer ride. Any thoughts?

It’s worth looking at what sizes you can fit. We had 215/70 15 109 index Conti Campers and had to have them pumped up very hard (80R 65F) to match our weight. As part of our uprating we fitted 225/70 15 112 index.
The bigger tyre allows us have lower tyre pressures (65R 50F) resulting in a much better ride.

Thanks for the reply.
My MH is only plated to 3.5t so do you think the Hankook 215/70 15 109 will be fine? Tend to go out in the MH at least every second or third weekend so it's not sitting about much.
What's your thoughts. I really wants a smoother ride as I find the Michelin's really hard.

I’m curious as to why you ran them at 80psi when it shows a pressure of 69psi on the sidewall?

I don’t know the technicalities of it all but the 69 psi doesn’t apply, it’s a USA thing. Someone on here contacted Continental’s technical department and clarified it a while ago.
Both Campers from Michelin and Continental can be inflated to 80psi

I’d also recommend Continental VanContact 4Season. We also went for a size up like Guigsy from 215 to 225/70 15. Much better ride than the previous campers at lower pressures.
I contacted Continental Tyres technical department and they recommended these.
Ditto although could not get vancontact so got prev model and upgraded also
Continental Vanco FourSeason
225/70 R15 112R
12 months later, 5k miles still look like new.

After the Mich's you will not believe how quiet Hankooks are ( I even had to start talkijng to the other half LOL ! )
The ride quality is excellent and the wet grip is nothing short of phenomenal

Hi had the Vantra LTs fitted to front 2 wheels on my Globecar PVC before we went to Europe 1300 miles later they were very good. Quieter than the vancos grip seemed good after a wee lack of concentration on the A66 stopping well without skidding. Cant comment on their longevity yet buy seem good and cheaper than the Vancos. Thanks for your feedback ? I have purchased a set of vantras from black circles so going to get them fitted later in the week as I'm heading off next week. Hopefully I'll see a difference in ride comfort as I find the current Michelin's very harsh.

We are Hankook agents and the reports we get back from customers and companies we look after who have had Hankook tyres fitted are very good I think they are one of the best tyres on the market at the moment just fitted some 225/75-16 RA18 with 120/121 load rating Hankooks for the second time to a company van the first set did 38k miles the company was very impressed with them and now fit Hankook to all their vans regardless of size

Just look around at HGV trucks when parked next to them at the lights you will be Suprised how many have Hankook tyres fitted

I am just about to have a set of Hankook RA18 Vantra LT 195/75 R16 110R 10 ply tyres on my MH. I have not been able to find recommended tyre pressures from Hankook. Do you know if there is any data? My back axle is rated at 2 tonne and is usually loaded to very near that figure in touring trim. Front axle 'only' 1.6 tonne. I assume that I will need metal valves. I will be grateful for any information.

No mention of Bridgestone?
My Citroen Relay based WildAx came with a set of Duravis R630s
As they're still original tyres I have nothing to compare against... good or bad...

...but I was surprised at the [low] recommended inflation as advised by their technical department, of 53psi all-round [1750kg/axle]

Pressure about right only seems to be Michelin who as for 80psi
Based on 1950 back 1800 from from Conti we were recommended
Front 55psi 3.75bar
Rear 58psi 4.5bar
I do run about 4 psi higher thou

I think the weight of the vehicle will have some effect on what the tire pressures should be. Fiat recommend 5 bar, 72 psi front and 5.5 Bar in the rear. Michelin, Continental and Vredestin also recommend the same pressures.
I have just retunred from a 2000 round trip on the Vredestin. Over all quiet good, good in the wet and wet grass and good grip n the dry. However the van is more prone to weave when HGV pass. But the are fourseason tires.
